Self Furling / Lazy Jacks:
genoa furler in March 2022.
Other:
All sails are less than three years old. Doyle balloners (matching original Amel colours and cut, but slightly heavier fabric). The mizzen Balloner is in an ATN sock for ease of hoist and drop. Works brilliantly and I can do this solo without any drama. The main balloner hoists fine in the Amel system and works as should. All rigging was replaced in 2019 with ACMO, forestay 2020. Running rigging: replaced all lines except main and genoa halyards. All replacements top of the line rigging per the Amel specifications. new control mechanism. It is now possible to trim the Mizzen car from the cockpit. This means I never have to leave the cockpit to trim any sails when at sea. An important consideration, especially on long solo passages. Main outhaul and gear box are both brand new units from Amel, installed in June 2022. The original motor and gearbox have been reconditioned and are on board as spares. New spare motor and gearbox which could be used for either the outhaul or main furler. In essence there are two new motors and gearboxes on board, one being used and one stored as a spare.
