Bayfield 36
Lumos is a 1988 Bayfield 36. She has been lovingly cared for through her many years of travel up and down the east coast, which included many upgrades along the way. We purchased her in 2020 and have sailed her from the Chesapeake to the Bahamas and Keys every winter until this past winter.
Features : 2x190W solar panels (total 380W) with independent Victron solar controllers, Air X 400W wind generator, 2200W Pure Sine Wave inverter, Espar Airtronic D4 (Eberspacher) Forced air diesel heater (2021); tri-color, anemometer, vhf cable/antenna, steaming/deck light to LED, composting head (2020). Many other updates (see below).

2022 rebuilt bilge pump system with “on” counter, high water alarm and primary and backup bilge pumps. All through hulls were upgraded to Marlon (superior since they don’t corrode and breakdown). 12v system with Xantrax battery monitoring system. 110v panel from shorepower or from 12v inverter. 2200W Pure Sine Wave Inverter 2021 wired to AC 110v panel. 2021 new house lead acid batteries 450 total amp hours. Rewired all 12v system from batteries to panel at that time. 2x190w solar panels (total 380watts) – each with independent Victron solar controllers. Air X 400 watt wind generator 2020 – new tri-color / new anemometer / new vhf cable and antenna / new steaming / deck light to LED when mast was down for rigging. 30 amp shore power with Xantrax 30 amp 12v batter charger. 2021 Espar Airtronic D4 (Eberspacher) Forced air diesel heater, tapped into diesel tank.

Engine 2300 hours (rebuilt 2021). 2022 maintenance: cleaned and rebuilt Racor filter, new fuel lines, rebuilt heat exchanger (preventative/explorative, engine never overheated).

Fully battened main in great shape, jib & staysail in excellent shape
Self Furling / Lazy Jacks:
Furling on headsails and Lazy Jack with Mack Pack on main
Other:
Mainsail – Dacron fully battened and in great shape (2017 but has many years left). Jib/Yankee – Dacron furling Yankee, with high aspect ratio for flying both Yankee and Staysail (2019, but also in great shape with many years left). Dacron Staysail – furling Staysail (2020 in perfect shape). Gennaker – in a sock and was seldom used by prior owners and myself (in excellent shape). All standing rigging & chain plates replaced in 2020 (Sta-loc). Lazy Jacks with Mack pack on mainsail in great shape with zipper assist line (sprayed with waterproofing/life extender annually). 3rd reef added to mainsail 2020.
