Beneteau Oceanis 500
Aletheia is a 1989 Beneteau Oceanis 500. There was a five year period that Beneteau said they built their best hulls and 1989 was one of those years. When you sail on Aletheia you will see why they felt this way: she loves to sail.
Updates: 2019 - 2 Raymarine Axiom touch screen Chart plotters (nav station and main helm), Raymarine Quantum 24 mile radar (blue tooth capable), A.I.S, Vitrifrego VFree chest fridge/freezer, spray hood/dodger, stainless steel davits, twin solar panels, 350w inverter, 12ft inflatable foldable dingy with aluminum floor boards.
2020/21 - Hood main sail (4 battens 3 reefs), all standing rigging replaced with dyform cable, all running rigging, batteries increase from 480 to 675 APH.
2023 kitchen renovated, including new Corian counters, new front load fridge and stainless steel sink
2024 Major retrofit. The keel was removed, sand blasted, refared and re installed, the Mast was removed and new wiring installed (standing rigging was replaced in 2020)
The electrical system was substantially upgraded. Aletheia was originally built with a European 220V system however now also has a 110V system . The upgrades include adding a new lithium 900aph battery bank (3x300) batteries (the system can operate fridges freezers lights fans etc for 50+ hours with out any insource of power) new shunt and monitor, 400amp fast charger, 3000watt inverter, 2 new 370 watt solar panels and MPPT controllers. New 120 plugs have been added to the cabins, kitchen and Nav station with built in USB (this is supplied from the 3000w inverter.)The ... New shower discharge pumps and a new fresh water pump were also added.
The Perkins engine was hauled out, stripped, sandblasted, painted, reassembled with new gaskets and fittings and reinstalled. It was then fully service and runs beautifully. A rope cutter and a folding prop were also installed which has enhanced performance.
The floor (Sole) was emoted striped sanded varnish and re installed. A new enlarged teak cockpit table was added as was a new wooden cabinet to enclose Vitrigo Vridge /freezer.
